PUTRAJAYA: A former security guard is among four people arrested over electric cable theft at Alamanda Putrajaya here.

Putrajaya OCPD Asst Comm A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the suspects, aged between 23 and 31 years old, were arrested in Dengkil on May 12 and 13."Once they steal the cables, they would sell it to a scrapyard," he told reporters on Wednesday ."We seized a car, a motorcycle, a sling bag, gloves, grounding cables, a metal rod and tools used for cable theft.

"Three of the suspects tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine," he said, adding that the three had prior drug records.ACP A. Asmadi warned the public against committing crimes. "We will not hesitate from taking stern action against anyone caught intentionally breaking the law," he said.
