KUALA LUMPUR: Former education minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid says he is mulling taking legal action after a witness alleged during a High Court hearing that he had received “gratification” from Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd for a solar hybrid project.
“I cannot decide on any legal action yet because I don’t know what was said by Rayyan Radzwill Abdullah in court. I have asked my lawyer to obtain court notes so I can comment further on this matter. He was referring to reports quoting Rayyan as saying that Mahdzir had asked for a 20% commission from Jepak Holdings as gratification, for the company to secure the solar hybrid project for 369 rural schools in Sarawak worth RM1.25bil from the Education Ministry in 2016.
