Former arbitration chief did not enjoy immunity when charged, court told

Defendants assert that a letter from Vinayak Pradhan, N. Sundra Rajoo’s successor at AIAC, to attorney-general Tommy Thomas on February 22, 2019, revealed that the former arbitration chief’s privileges and immunity had been revoked when he was detained and charged with three counts of CBT. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, June 20, 2022.

WHEN former Asian International Arbitration Centre director N. Sundra Rajoo was charged with criminal breach of trust in March 2019, he no longer enjoyed any immunity from prosecution. The reason: his successor at the arbitration centre had waived all of Sundra’s privileges and immunities he enjoyed upon learning that the government was on the cusp of bringing charges related to the alleged fraudulent use of AIAC funds.
