KUALA LUMPUR: The issue that needs to be addressed is the money that allegedly went missing from the littoral combat ship (LCS) project, says Rafizi Ramli.

"The findings of the forensic audit are not hearsay and it is not my document. It is a government document that went all the way to Cabinet," the PKR deputy president said outside the Sentul police headquarters on Saturday .

Rafizi was at the police headquarters here at 3pm after being summoned to give his statement over allegations that a woman named Zainab Mohd Salleh had benefited from the LCS project. "The information is the government's information, not mine. It named Datuk Dr Abd Latiff Ahmad as the husband of Zainab.Prior to this, he served as the deputy defence minister from 2008 to 2013 under Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who was the defence minister at the time."I am also a lockup veteran so it's not a problem. Maybe I can get some workouts in," he quipped.

In the two police reports currently concerning matters related to the LCS, Rafizi said that the bigger issue is the allegedly misappropriated money and not whether Zainab is Abdul Latiff's wife. In August, Rafizi had linked a"Zainab Mohd Salleh" to an offshore company with units incorporated in tax havens such as Malta and Labuan.
