‘Flying car’ actually a drone, says manufacturer

A police drone being demonstrated in Berlin, Germany. Aerodyne Group has clarified that Malaysia's 'flying car' is not a vehicle per se, but a drone powered by four motors and a lithium-ion battery. – EPA pic, March 28, 2019.

THE “flying car” that Malaysia is purportedly developing is actually a drone that can carry people and cargo, said the vehicle’s makers. Entrepreneur Development Minister Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof previously said the country will reveal its first flying vehicle, developed using local technology, later this year – a claim that was met with scepticism by various parties, including Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin.
