PUTRAJAYA: Motor workshop operators have been reminded not to take advantage of the flood situation by charging excessively for repairs to vehicles damaged by floods.

Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry enforcement director Azman Adam said workshop operators must abide by the Consumer Protection Regulations 2002 and Consumer Protection Act 1999.

In a statement on Wednesday , Azman said throughout 2021, the ministry had conducted 570 checks on motor vehicle workshops, with 76 compound notices issued totalling RM21,250.
