Some areas in Johor, Sabah, Pahang warned of floods, high tide

Heavy rain expected to last until January 30 can be categorised as the third wave of the northeast monsoon, says Sabah and Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions Minister Armizan Mohd Ali. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, January 25, 2023.

Sabah and Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions Minister Armizan Mohd Ali said with current rainy conditions, the Muar and Tangkak districts, he said Pitas and Kota Marudu are likely to be hit by high tides and flooding. “As such, all agencies are to identify villages whose residents may need to be evacuated to temporary relief centres,” he told reporters after a visit to the Kampung Tasek Community Hall relief centre in Segamat today.
