SHAH ALAM: Floods that hit the Klang Valley due to incessant heavy rain from Friday morning (Dec 17) have begun to recede gradually, says the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department.

"Floodwaters in most areas have started to recede but there are areas near the river where the water seems to be stagnant such as in Taman Sri Muda here," its director Norazam Khamis told Bernama.

Meanwhile, Bernama's aerial survey onboard a department’s helicopter showed that the flood situation had not subsided in some areas of the Klang Valley on Sunday .A check around Section 13, Shah Alam, also saw that some areas were still flooded, making it difficult for any vehicle to pass through. Most of the victims no longer need to be evacuated to temporary relief centres but are in need of food aid.
