JOHOR BARU: Johor police have deployed 60% of the force to help in flood rescue operations and monitor homes temporarily abandoned by evacuees.

State police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said they were committed to ensuring the safety of flood victims and their homes."We urge those instructed to vacate their homes to comply. They do not have to worry about their homes and belongings."We will make sure that their homes are monitored and not broken into," he said during the monthly Johor police assembly at state police headquarters here on Thursday .

During the event, Comm Kamarul Zaman also presented certificates and awards to 48 people, including policemen, members of the public and media practitioners.
