PUTRAJAYA: Several areas in Sabah, Pahang and Labuan will be placed under an enhanced movement control order after recording a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaako said that five sub-zones in Labuan will be under lockdown where the infectivity on the island as of May 23 is at 2.55 with the possibility of higher infectivity.

This will allow authorities to control the movement of the people in the affected areas to stop Covid-19 from infecting other communities. Felda Global Ventures plantation in Kalabakan, Sabah will also be under the enhanced MCO after nine positive cases emerged from 47 swab tests carried out at the locality.
