City police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said the incident occurred at around 10.50pm on Friday ."We rushed to the scene and broke up the fight and began our investigations," he said in a statement on Saturday ."Initially, a group of 10 men were fighting over a family matter.
"A fight then broke out between them and another group, after the latter tried to break up the fight. "They were not satisfied that outsiders were interfering in a family issue," he said, adding that this caused the two groups to start shoving each other before a fight erupted. He said during the incident at least 10 vehicles parked at the parking lot area were rammed by one of the suspects’ vehicles."We managed to arrest 20 men, aged between 17 and 33. One of them suffered minor injuries to his fingers," he said.
Comm Mazlan said they had classified the case as rioting and had remanded all the suspects for four days."The public must not take matters into their own hands and abide by the law.He also urged anyone with information on the case to contact the police hotline at 03-2115 9999.
