PUTRAJAYA: The number of arrests for movement control order (MCO) violations is continuing to decline as public awareness grows and authorities take serious action against errant individuals.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 524 arrests were made on Thursday , a 6.8% drop from the arrests made on Wednesday .“Of the 524 arrests, 451 individuals were remanded while 73 were out on police bail.

We hope to see the figures on violation continue the downward trend as people realise the importance of adhering to the MCO, ” he said on Friday . On Thursday, authorities set up 737 roadblocks, inspected 403,336 vehicles, and conducted surprised checks on 25,614 premises.Article type: free
