Three Felda schemes in Johor have been selected for the integrated waste management pilot projects that is slated to start in first quarter of 2024.
Split into three phases, Felda expects to commence the pilot projects in the first quarter of 2024 in the Johor Bahru region, namely at the Felda Adela, Felda Air Tawar and Felda Tenggaroh schemes.The IWMP is the first of its kind in Malaysia on sustainable management of solid waste and waste water, and generating renewable energy from waste through the application of green technology.
Felda and Greentech Axis Bhd signed a memorandum of understanding today to develop such an integrated waste management plant at one of the Felda schemes in Johor. Greentech CEO Mohamad Feardaus Khairuddin said it had conducted a preliminary site study at the Felda Adela, Felda Air Tawar and Felda Tenggaroh schemes.
