KUALA LUMPUR: Fans will have to wait longer to catch national singles ace Lee Zii Jia back in action after his All-England triumph.

The Badminton Association of Malaysia confirmed that the world No. 8 will be rested for the upcoming World Tour event, the Indian Open from May 11-16.

Top men and women’s doubles pairs - world No. 9 Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik and No. 11 Chow Mei Kuan-Lee Meng Yean - are expected to make their way to India after skipping the All-England two weeks ago.“Zii Jia is not going, but we are likely to send our doubles pairs there, ” said Choong Hann. Choong Hann said the trip to India remained very much in the BAM’s plan although the second most populated country in the world has recorded a surge in Covid-19 cases of late.
