Federal Court adjourns LTTE suspect’s appeal hearing to April 1

THE Federal Court today adjourned the appeal hearing relating to a writ of habeas corpus application filed by a grocer over his detention for alleged link to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam pending hearing of an appeal at the Court of Appeal.

Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, who chaired the five-member panel, told lawyer S. Selvam who was representing B. Subramaniam, to wait for the Court of Appeal to hear and decide on an appeal which involves similar issues. Effective July 2018, access to full reports will only be available with a subscription.
