He has been released on bail pending an investigation under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

The man who was arrested for scalding his son in a dispute over an insurance payout.

In the incident which occurred at the man’s apartment in Bukit Gelugor at 6.30pm on Wednesday, the 35-year-old son demanded his share of RM30,000 from the insurance and savings plan of his mother, who died in 2005. The son, who lodged a police report on the matter, told police that before her death, his mother had bought an insurance and savings plan for the family, including his siblings.
