Fareez, who started training under Liek Hou’s coach Rashid Sidek, earlier this year, had been playing in the SU5 category but needed to get the certification from the International Paralympic Comittee recognised doctors in order to play in international tournaments.
Rashid said Fareez will continue being assessed in the Dubai Para International from May 23-29 and a few more tournaments. “He can play here and in Dubai, three doctors will examine his disability level and he needs to get the approval of all three. After that, he should be able to compete in the para circuit.
