IPOH: The Malaysian Super League is still on track to resume on Aug 26, despite several areas in Kedah being under targeted enhanced movement control order (MCO).

Football Association of Malaysia deputy president Datuk Yusoff Mahadi said players from the state have taken swab tests for Covid-19 and there are no issues so far."We don't allow other teams from outside ," he told reporters after attending the opening of the Perak Football Association 62nd Congress here on Tuesday .

"As for the league, as long as the standard operating procedure is sufficient, it will not be affected," he added. It was reported that four sub-districts in Kedah have been put under targeted enhanced MCO following an increase in Covid-19 cases from the Sivagangga cluster in the state.Yusoff said he hopes that all teams would continue to observe the SOP strictly.

"Teams should continue to be prepared. More importantly, ensure there are no cases so the leagues can resume as scheduled," he added.
