Bandar Baru fire station chief Mazuki Ismail said they received an emergency call on the incident at Jalan Genuang near here at 3.18pm.
He said 12 firemen in a light fire rapid tender vehicle and an emergency medical response services vehicle were sent to the scene.“The man was however pronounced dead at the scene by the paramedic team and the body had been handed over to the police for further action,” he said in a statement. In a separate incident in Pontian, a fire broke out at a factory at Taman Perindustrian Pontian destroying a container which was used to store goods.
Pontian Baru fire station chief Mahadir Mamat said they received an emergency call at 3.19pm and deployed 15 firemen. He said the operation ended at 3.50pm, adding that the cause of the fire and the extent of the losses were still being determined.
