FAA downgrade may affect Malaysia Airlines codeshare deals

State-owned carrier Malaysia Airlines queries the ongoing validity of its codeshare agreements, following the CAAM’s downgrade to Category 2 by the FAA. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, November 12, 2019.

MALAYSIAN Airlines said the US Federal Aviation Administration downgrade of the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia’s to Category 2 may affect its existing codeshares to and from the US with several partner airlines, subject to the respective airline’s own assessment or consideration. The state-owned carrier’s passengers currently fly to the US through its One World alliance partners.
