PUTRAJAYA: Any further extension of the movement control order (MCO) will depend on Covid-19 data in the country by April 10, says Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The Health Ministry director-general said he could not predict what would happen but any decision would be based on science and facts.“We hope that by April 10, the data is available for us to make a decision on whether we need to extend or not,” he said during a press conference yesterday.

To a question about the backlog of reported cases, Dr Noor Hisham explained that information on new cases was based on the numbers as at noon daily. Separately, Dr Noor Hisham said the ministry was concerned that Malaysians returning from abroad could bring back the virus.

Use all available means at your disposal to combat covid19

Limited facts. Just saying

We have to do what we have to do

You have to base on other countries situation too

DGHisham Could MOH also publish the trend of percentages of confirmed cases against the total number of results? This is a better indication of the effectiveness of the MCO rather than just the absolute number of new cases that is being reported daily.

Maybe science just won't work here. Just like cancer, science didn't really work. But cancer is not contagious, Covid is. If and when MCO ends, just like a common flu, people will be infected again. And another round of MCO and it repeats.
