PETALING JAYA: The former chief of the Sabah forestry department today clarified allegations over the "missing" Yayasan Sabah land, saying it is classified under conservatory land.
"People get the impression that Yayasan Sabah is one massive monster-size licensed area in the beginning of its genesis. This is not true. "The licensed area was only about 850,000 hectares at its birth and today, it is only 250,000 hectares. So where is the ‘missing’ 600,000 hectares as alleged by the present state government?" he said in a statement.
Recently, former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman hit out at his successor Shafie Apdal over his allegation that Musa and his family members had secured a 100-year contract for 700,000ha land that belonged to Yayasan Sabah.
