PUTRAJAYA: An ex-aide to a former minister has been remanded to help in a corruption probe.

The 29-year-old suspect was brought before Magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim to be remanded on Saturday .

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has successfully obtained an order to remand the former aide for six days until Aug 20.Both were arrested at the MACC headquarters around 5pm on Friday after being"missing" for two months. The man had served as senior private secretary to former Tourism, Arts and Culture minister Datuk Mohamadin Ketapi.

Sources said the suspect had allegedly received RM3.7mil from a company to help secure a project worth RM90mil.Last month, the company director was charged with 12 counts of falsifying documents.Article type: metered
