Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and X , took to social media to lambast Apple's decision to integrate OpenAI into the former's devices, at the operating system level. The billionaire was clearly unhappy with the partnership, claiming on his social network that the decision was an 'unacceptable security violation.'

In a follow-up post, Musk says that is the integration goes through, he would then force visitors 'check their Apple devices at the door', where they will be stored in a Faraday cage. 'It's patently absurd that Apple isn't smart enough to make their own AI, yet is somehow capable of ensuring that OpenAI will protect your security & privacy!' the man said on X.

If Apple integrates OpenAI at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned at my companies. That is an unacceptable security violation.Earlier today, Apple made a whole slew of announcements during its annual WWDC event, one of which was the announcement of Apple Intelligence, which is the fruit company's rollout of AI to its ecosystem, with a little help from OpenAI.

Musk's animosity stems from his feud with OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, whom he sued at the beginning of March, with whom he had co-founded the AI think-tank back in 2015. Musk claims that Altman had abandoned the startup's original mission to develop AI for the benefit of humanity, in order to turn a profit.Musk has since created his own AI startup, aptly called xAI, in an effort to challenge OpenAI and as an alternative to ChatGPT.
