JOHOR BARU: Eligible voters working in Singapore have been urged to return home on polling day this Saturday (Sept 9) so that they can take part in the Pulai and Simpang Jeram by-elections.

Pasir Gudang PKR committee member Danny Tan Peng Chye said his team has conducted a programme at the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex Bangunan Sultan Iskandar here as a last-leg effort to woo voters.

"We want those who are free on that day to return home, as every single vote counts," he said when contacted on Thursday . "There are also those who are not aware that we are in the midst of by-elections as they are too focused on their daily lives. "All they need to do is check their IC number on MySPRSemak to know their voting centre," he said, adding that the programme started on Wednesday and ends on Friday .Meanwhile, Johor Bersatu information chief Muhammad Islahuddin Abas said Perikatan Nasional would continue with its current campaign strategy by appealing to the general public, especially the Chinese voters.
