KUALA LUMPUR: Five foreign men and two foreign women were among eight arrested following a raid on a nightclub at Pusat Perdagangan Bandar Bukit Jalil here.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said a team from Cheras CID Anti Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies division raided the premises at around 10.25pm on Monday ."The eight comprised one local man, two foreign women and five foreign men aged between 23 and 35," he said in a statement on Tuesday .

He said police also seized seven bottles of alcoholic beverages and a number of electronic equipment. "We are investigating the case under Section 4 of the Federal Territories Entertainment Act, Section 76 of Excise Act, Section 39 of the Immigration Regulations, as well as Section 55B and Section 6 of the Immigration Act.

He said Cheras police would not hesitate from taking stern action against anyone caught intentionally breaking the law. Those with information on similar activities can contact the Cheras police at 03-9284 5050/ 03-9284 5051 the City police at 03-2115 9999 or the nearest police station.
