PETALING JAYA: The Education Ministry has launched its online learning platform called the Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia (Delima).

said Delima is a sharing and collaborative platform that provides communities and resources for teachers to support online teaching and learning.

"Most teachers and students know this platform as Google Classroom but we are rebranding it as 'Delima'. "This rebranding is to show three main things – that the platform offers multiple applications and services; there are many partners involved as well as a single experience in teaching and learning online.

"Delima's end game is to empower and prepare students for lifelong learning, and future skills and competencies that they need to be employable in Malaysia and in the global market," she said in a webinar titled"Malaysia Towards Digital Learning in the New Normal" on Monday . In July 2019, Habibah said the ministry had selected Google Classroom and Google for Education as its platform for learning online."With these three main technological players, Delima has ensured that whatever technologies that pupils might need in the future can be provided.
