ECRL: So, what’s the deal with Pakatan’s new deal?

, for the ECRL Phase 2, Double Tracking and the Northern Extension under the original contract, according to Bernama. CCCC meanwhile, is the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contractor for the railway project which will bridge the east coast and west coast of Peninsular Malaysia by connecting Kota Baru in Kelantan to Port Klang in Selangor.

The prime minister’s special envoy Tun Daim Zainuddin, who had been tasked to negotiate a cheaper price for Malaysia, finalised the deal in Beijing on April 12. — Picture by Ham Abu BakarFollowing renegotiations, the government announced that MRLSB and CCCC signed three supplementary agreements to the EPCC Contract on April 12, to restart the suspended ECRL project, at a much lower cost.

The new alignment will run through 20 stations, among others, from Kota Baru to Kuala Terengganu, Kuantan, Mentakab and proceed to Jelebu, Bangi/Kajang, Putrajaya Sentral and onto Port Klang.

Fm d word 'go', ECRL is a very good prjt. 2 rkyat, it is d same diff btwn BN * PH's ECRL deal. It is now cheaper bcos shorter & does not involve very expensive tunnelling. It is cheaper bcos contractors need not rush 2 complete it in 2024 but in 2+ yrs later in 2026.
