Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said a 68-year-old retiree discovered that the donation box was tampered with at about 6am on July 28.
"We investigated and managed to detain a 13-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man at Tasek Tambahan at about 10.10pm on Saturday . "The teenager is still a student at a school in Sri Kembangan while the other suspect is jobless," he said when contacted on Sunday ."The duo often target mosque donation boxes.ACP Farouk reminded the public not to be involved in any crime including theft and using fake number plates.
"We urge those with information on any crime in the Ampang Jaya area to contact the nearest police station," he said.
