IPOH: Two men have been arrested for allegedly provoking policemen during a stand-off when workers were prevented from clearing a plot of land in Chepor.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the two were arrested after they refused to leave the site despite numerous warnings.

“When the group failed to show proof that they were the landowners, police advised them to leave before any untoward incident took place,” he said in a statement. “Most of them dispersed, but two men who introduced themselves as Parti Sosialis Malaysia members, refused to cooperate, did not want to leave and provoked my men.
