BAHANG Pilihan Raya Umum Ke-15 semakin hangat selepas Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya menetapkan 19 November ini sebagai tarikh pengundian.Selain Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin yang sudah pasti bertanding semula, antara pemimpin lain disebut-sebut ialah dua Ayub, iaitu Datuk Ayub Rahmat dan Ayub Jamil.
Walaupun tewas, Ayub tetap meneruskan gerak kerja dan sosok pemimpin ini disenangi masyarakat, terutama para pengundi di kawasan berkenaan kerana sentiasa membantu rakyat. Malah, ada masyarakat yang ‘menganggap’ beliau sebagai ‘wakil rakyat sebenar’ di kawasan berkenaan. Bekas Exco Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan Johor ini diyakini mampu merampas semula Parlimen Batu Pahat jika dicalonkan.
Latif yang juga bekas ADUN Endau dikatakan dicalonkan di kerusi Parlimen Mersing untuk berdepan penyandang, Datuk Dr. Latiff Ahmad yang ‘berhijrah’ ke Bersatu selepas memenangi kerusi tersebut di bawah tiket UMNO pada PRU14.
