KOTA KINABALU: Firefighters worked on releasing a man trapped inside a 10-tonne lorry filled with palm fruit after a collision with another lorry in Kinabatangan on Thursday night (Aug 11).

The accident occurred at 7.09pm in front of Restoran Santa Kampung Segaliud in Kota Kinabatangan, said a Fire and Rescue Department spokesman.

Bohari Pettalib, 53, became trapped in the lorry he was driving when he rammed into another 10-tonne lorry from behind. The second lorry was not carrying anything."The team managed to get the trapped victim out of the vehicle and sent him to Kinabatangan hospital via ambulance," said the spokesman, adding that the driver suffered serious injuries.
