PETALING JAYA: Malaysia's shipping industry will benefit from good integration with international standards, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong .

Dr Wee said that over 90% of the world's cargo-carrying tonnage is covered by the classifications of design, construction and through-life compliance to the rules and standards set by the twelve member societies of the IACS. Dr Wee said that even smaller domestic ferries that transport people and small-scale goods would be well served by following the safety standards practised internationally.
