PETALING JAYA: It was a special dinner reception, organised in conjunction with Malaysia Day by the High Commission of Malaysia in London, that Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong attended recently.

“Tonight, we spent some time with our fellow Malaysians for a Malaysia Day celebration at the High Commission.

“Thank you to Malaysian Ambassador to the UK His Excellency Zakri Jaafar and the High Commission staff for organising not one, but two events today, one for Malaysia's 50th anniversary in the IMO and now for the Malaysia Day celebration,” the Transport Minister, in the United Kingdom for a working visit, said in a Facebook post Wednesday .

The MCA president also took the opportunity to explain that the ministry had never introduced any policy to coerce senior citizens above a certain age to surrender their driving licences. “Rather, under the law, anyone can voluntarily surrender their Malaysian driving licences for health reasons,” he added.
