PETALING JAYA: Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir claims that his father, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, was also a subject of investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission .
He said that he saw the notices sent to his brothers Mirzan and Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, which clearly stated that Dr Mahathir was also subject to the investigation. "I saw with my own eyes that the notice was signed by Tan Sri Azam Baki as the MACC chief to both Mirzan and Mokhzani, in which early in the notice, it stated that they were conducting an investigation on my father.
"After that, it stated that both of them were ordered to declare their assets to assist in investigations," he said in a video recording uploaded by Malaya Daily on YouTube, on Sunday .On March 27, Azam Baki said he would look into claims by Mahathir’s two eldest sons that they were not the target of investigations by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission .On Jan 19, MACC gave Mirzan 30 days to list down his assets, be they in the country or abroad.
MACC also confirmed that it had, since August 2022, begun investigating all entities named in the Pandora Papers as well as the Panama Papers.
