KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has conveyed Malaysia’s solidarity with and steadfast support for China in handling the ongoing Covid-19 epidemic.

In a telephone conversation lasting over half an hour with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Dr Mahathir also expressed confidence in every effort being undertaken by the president and his government in this regard.

According to the ministry, Xi appreciated Malaysia’s friendship and assistance, and assured the country that China has the strength to fight the Covid-19 outbreak and will care for Malaysians and other people who are currently in China like its own citizens.
