KUALA LUMPUR: The fight for the Olympic Games ticket is on and may the best pair win.

On the brink: Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing are the third best Malaysian pair at world No. 18 behind Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying and Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie .The Badminton Association of Malaysia are looking to push their top two mixed doubles pairs, Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie and Tan Kian Meng-Lai PeiBut independent pair Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying are also in the running and are ranked higher at No. 5.

National mixed doubles head coach Chin Ee Hui said her pairs will have to work doubly hard and also accept the fact that one of them will miss the boat. Peng Soon-Liu Ying, seeded fifth, will play homesters and world No. 27 Ronald Ronald-Annisa Saufika in the opening round while Kian Meng-Pei Jing take on China’s Lu Kai-Chen Lu who are ranked 16th.
