PETALING JAYA: National juniors Ferdinan Ramno and Dania Sofea Zaidi were the big winners at the Malaysian Schools Sports Council (MSSM) badminton championships in Kuching when they both captured the singles and doubles titles in the boys’ Under-18 and girls’ Under-15 categories yesterday.

In the Under-18 category, Sabah’s Ferdinan beat Johor’s Wee Yee Tern 21-8, 21-15 in the boys’ singles before combining with Aguwel Andrew to overcome Kedah’s Khoh Jian Cheng-Lim Zheng Hong 21-17, 21-14 in the boys’ doubles.

Johor’s Dania Sofea followed suit in the girls’ Under-15 category after defeating Selangor’s Eng Ler Qi 21-14, 12-21, 21-17 in a hard-fought encounter.Meanwhile, Johor’s Lim Shin triumphed in the Under-18 girls’ singles after getting the better of Negri Sembilan’s Chew Tze Teng 21-17, 21-16.
