PETALING JAYA: Kumpulan pendidikan Cina, Dong Jiao Zong berkata, mereka berusaha mencari penyelesaian dengan Kementerian Pendidikan berhubung isu pengenalan tulisan Jawi dalam subjek bahasa Melayu di sekolah vernakular.
Dong Jiao Zong berkata, selepas mengemukakan memorandum 17 NGO Cina kepada Kementerian Pendidikan pada 2 Jan lalu, ia mengambil pelbagai inisiatif, termasuk menghubungi parti pemerintah dan pembangkang serta Kementerian Pendidikan untuk mengadakan dialog bagi menyelesaikan isu pengenalan tulisan Jawi.
“Pada hari sama, Dong Jiao Zong akan mengadakan satu pertemuan dengan pertubuhan Muslim, maka kerana kesuntukan masa dan sebab-sebab itu, kami tidak sempat menghadiri pertemuan dengan menteri dan ini amat dikesali,” katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini. “Kami mengalu-alukan segala peluang untuk bertukar pandangan dan bermuzakarah dengan semua pertubuhan berkaitan, termasuk yang berlainan pandangan untuk mencari formula penyelesaian yang rasional.”
