SEBERANG PERAI: Penang-based scheduled waste management group Shan Poornam has taken the initiative to provide 100,000 pieces of surgical masks to frontliners in the ongoing fight against the Covid-19 spread in Malaysia.

The move, which saw the company proactively sourcing for the masks from China, was aimed at supporting the efforts of frontliners in different capacities, including medical staff at government hospitals, the police, immigration and environmental officials amongst others.

“Since we understand how critical the shortages are in the country, we are happy to share what we have. Shan Poornam is allocating 100,000 pieces of masks to Frontliners and 20,000 pieces for our staff and families. “We salute all frontliners. All doctors, nurses and medical staff - we pay them our highest tribute for sacrificing their health and safety for their fellow Malaysians, ” said Shan Poornam chief executive officer Datuk Selvakumar Shanmugam.
