Police responded to an emergency call at one of the longest operating factories in Penang after an enraged former employer stormed into the complex armed with a parang and stabbed two workers inside a laboratory.
The German owned B. Braun factory was under heavy lock down at press time as police swarmed the plant which produces medical devices for export here at the Bayan Lepas Industrial Free Trade Zone Phase II.The suspect worked as an assistant quality control officer before he was given his marching orders earlier in the day for insubordination.
The 25-year-old was believed to have gone to his car and retrieved the parang before heading inside in a frenzy.Established in 1972, B. Braun Medical Industries in Penang is the group’s first manufacturing site in Asia Pacific region and it is one of the largest B. Braun manufacturing sites for the group outside Europe.
