KUALA LUMPUR: A group representing refugees from Chin state in Myanmar has reminded the government that deporting refugees puts their lives at risk once they return to their home countries.
“The government should not lump migrants and refugees together because refugees are fleeing internal wars and conflicts, and cannot return to their home countries for fear of persecution and even death. James said his NGO is pushing for a meeting with Home Minister Hamzah Zainudin to discuss its concerns on the issue and to put forward a plea to grant the refugees protection.
Its a longggg way for myanmar refugees to come here. Why not seek refuge at their neighboring countries like vietnam or thailand? Cambodia maybe?
