Dell has put out a warning to its customers, informing them that it has suffered a serious data breach. It claims that hackers have made of with the personal

details of approximately 49 million customers.

'We are currently investigating an incident involving a Dell portal, which contains a database with limited types of customer information related to purchases from Dell,' reads a Dell data breach notification. However, the computer brand believes that there isn't a significant risk to the its customer base, given the sensitivity and nature of information the threat actors made off with.

At the same time and as reported by the Daily Dark Web, an individual by the name of Menelik attempted to sell the alleged data on the Breach Forums on 28 April. They said that the data stolen amounted to '49 million customers and other information systems purchased from Dell between 2017 and 2024.'
