KOTA KINABALU: The police do not suspect suicide or foul play in the death of a civil servant at a Federal Government building here on Tuesday (Oct 4)

Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm Zaidi Abdullah said there were no elements of such in the death of the victim, Hasbullah Abd Hamid, 38.

He said the case has been classified as sudden death, adding that the probe into the cause of death is underway. Earlier, Lintas Fire Station chief Agustavia Joe Guasi said the Fire Department received a call about a locked door at 8.42am and when they arrived, health officials were already at the scene attending to the deceased.

“The door was already opened up by the staff at the building when firemen arrived. Health officials were also on scene to respond to a call about the unconscious man,” she had said in a statement.Agustavia said the man’s body was later taken to the hospital for a post-mortem. “Our operations ceased at 9.30am after checking that there were no dangerous or hazardous elements at the scene,” she said.
