The Kuala Lumpur City Hall will preserve various old shade trees as the city’s natural heritage and as part of an environmental education programme for city folk.
“Among them are the Angsana trees at Jalan Ampang, Rain trees at Jalan Mahkamah and Yellow Flame trees at Jalan Syed Putra,“ said the statement. In line with the city’s greening and beautifying efforts, the city hall has planted many shade trees since the 1980s through Kuala Lumpur Greening Programme, it said.
