Presiden MPEA Michael Singho berkata, pemaju membina terlalu hampir dengan penempatan Portugis berdekatan dengan Pulau Melaka.
Beliau berkata, laporan EIA yang dikemas kini akan mengenal pasti impak projek itu ke atas pesisir pantai di mana ramai nelayan komuniti terbabit mencari rezeki. “Mereka perlu mengambil langkah untuk membetulkan keadaan ini kerana telah terbukti projek itu menjejaskan pantai, alam sekitar dan hasil tangkapan kami,” kata Singho.
Pada April, satu memorandum telah diserahkan oleh Save Our Seashores Melaka kepada Menteri Sumber Asli, Alam Sekitar dan Perubahan Iklim Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, yang menggariskan pelbagai kebimbangan dan cadangan.
