Wong also called on the state’s Cabinet ministers not to interfere in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Separately, Human rights activist Peter John Jaban cautioned the state government against lifting the movement control order to avoid another wave of coronavirus disease infections in the state.

“With 523 total positive cases as of yesterday, a high figure that is still increasing, the state government is right to be cautious,” Jaban said. He said it is not just Sarawak, but also other states such as Sabah, Kedah, Penang, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang, which have opted out of CMCO, which began today.

Need a more intelligent way of handling this. Not the carpet bombing style of economic shutdown that destroys everything. Understandable if you are still getting your monthly pay during this MCO. Reality is lockdown can't fully eradicate this virus and we must learn to live with it for at least 1 or 2 years. We need to open gradually with comprehensive guidelines to clamp down any surges during CMCO
