Profesor Kanan Fakulti Ekonomi dan Perniagaan Universiti Malaysia Sarawak , Datuk Shazali Abu Mansor berkata, pekerja yang diberhentikan kebanyakannya daripada industri yang terjejas teruk seperti pelancongan, perhotelan dan penerbangan yang menghadapi kesukaran untuk mencari pekerjaan baharu. Beliau berkata, memandangkan sukar untuk mendapat pekerjaan baharu berikutan kadar pemulihan yang perlahan dalam dunia korporat selain kepakaran yang terhad, pekerja yang kini kehilangan pekerjaan memerlukan sokongan segera daripada kerajaan."Bayangkan, apa yang dapat dilakukan kru penerbangan dan juruterbang yang diberhentikan? Kepakaran mereka adalah dalam industri penerbangan.
"Kerajaan perlu bantu. Melatih semula mereka dan memberi elaun latihan. Saya percaya ada syarikat bersedia untuk mengambil mereka," katanya.
