"Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has already announced that Comm Abdul Hamid will be taking over as the Inspector General when I retire, and many of us have been waiting for the announcement."My only hope is that the top brass here will continue to give him the same support they showed to me while I was leading," he told reporters after launching the PDRM Mess Book at Bukit Aman.
However, Mohamad Fuzi said he was confident everyone would accept the government's decision on Comm Abdul Hamid's appointment, adding that he was capable of performing his duties to the best of his abilities to carry on the legacy and responsibilities as the top man in the force.Abdul Hamid is expceted to take charge of the force for two years, starting May 4.
