KualaKedah Nelayan asing ‘mencuri’ 2,000 kilogram ikan pelbagai jenis ditahan APMM di perairan Kuala Kedah, semalam.

Pengarah Zon Maritim Kuala Kedah, Komander Maritim Mahmad Faizal Ahmad berkata, sembilan nelayan bersama dua bot tunda kelas C dikesan melanggar syarat sah lesen operasi dengan mengaut hasil laut di perairan itu.

“Bot pertama ditahan pada 3.58 pagi ketika rondaan anggota APMM bersama tekong tempatan, tiga awak-awak warga Thailand dan seorang warga Myanmar. Mahmad Faizal berkata, kedua-dua bot dianggarkan bernilai RM1 juta bersama 2,000 kilogram hasil tangkapan dibawa ke Jeti Zon Maritim Kuala Kedah untuk tindakan lanjut dan kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 8 Akta Perikanan 1985.
